Contract Labour Solutions Ltd have a wonderful opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our client - an industry leader in the supply of timber hardware products to trade professionals - on a full-time, permanent basis.

Salary: £28,000 - £29,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm, Every other Saturday, 8am - 12pm (THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE)

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse, maintaining accurate stock levels, and supporting the smooth running of daily operations. You will also be required to operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently. Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Receive, check, and store incoming goods and materials.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery and collection.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
  • Maintain accurate stock control through regular checks and system updates.
  • Ensure the warehouse and yard are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including heavy lifting and manual handling of materials.
  • Support delivery drivers with loading/unloading when required.
  • Liaise with sales and trade counter teams to ensure efficient order processing.
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence (Essential).
  • MUST be able to work 2 Saturdays out of 4.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or trade counter environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (due to location and early start times).
  • Good level of physical fitness – the role involves regular heavy lifting, in some cases up to 40kg
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
