Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC-controlled saw and drill equipment (FICEP and Voortman lines)
- Set up machines based on production drawings and cut lists
- Load and unload steel components using overhead cranes and forklifts
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and design specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Complete production and quality records
Knowledge/Experience:
- Previous experience in a steel processing or fabrication environment
- Familiarity with CNC steel processing equipment (especially saw and drill lines)
- Experience operating FICEP or Voortman
- Understanding of steel types and processing methods
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and work orders
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Qualifications:
While full training will be provided, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Valid Overhead Crane Licence
- Valid Forklift Truck Licence (counterbalance or side-loader)
- Relevant industry-related certifications or training
Benefits:
- Full-time involving weekly rotating shifts:
- Day Shift: Mon – Thurs 6:00am – 3:00pm; Fri 6:00am – 12:30pm
- Afters Shift: Mon – Thurs 3:00pm – 12:00am; Fri 12:30pm – 7:00pm
- Pay: £14.15 – £15.15 per hour. Depending on experience
