Senior Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistants to join our team of flexible healthcare professionals working in care home settings in Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield and beyond . The ideal candidates will need to demonstrate both leadership and supervisory skills. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and medication management.
  • Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' well-being.
  • Supervise junior staff and provide guidance as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months recent and relevant experience working as a senior healthcare assistant is essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Medication Training
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising others.
  • Ability to develop and implement care plans that cater to individual resident needs.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous.
  • Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software systems.
