Role:
Candidates will be completing the following tasks -
- Interpret and work from technical engineering drawings and specifications
- Fabricate steel structures using MIG/MAG welding techniques (in line with coded welding standards)
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using appropriate tools and machinery (e.g., flame cutters, grinders, saws)
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper weld integrity of fabricated parts
- Inspect and test completed welds to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards
Requirements:
Candidates will need to show the following -
- Proven experience as a structural steel welder/fabricator, preferably within a steel construction or heavy engineering environment
- Proficiency in MIG/MAG welding; Coded welder qualification preferred (or willing to gain certification)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and welding specifications
- Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight tolerances
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent) desirable
Bonus: £1ph uplift for working a minimum of 45 hours per week.
Overtime: x1.5 over 40 hours per week.
